MTK (MUON Tracking)#

Quality Summary#

[QC on EPN]mch-qualitysummary

The left panel shows a summary of the automated checked on the muon tracks, in a human-readable format. The top line describes the aggregated quality status, followed by a message suggesting the appropriate action according to the quality level:

  • Bad: write a logbook entry, tagging MCH and MID

  • Medium: write a logbook entry, tagging MCH and MID

  • Null: the plots are completely empty. Check in QC the individual qualities of MCH and MID. If they are both Good, write a logbook entry, tagging MCH and MID.

The right panel shows a trending plot of the aggregated quality. The message in the left panel always corresponds to the most recent point in the trending plot.

Quality Plots - Matching efficiencies#

The following plots show the distribution of the MCH-MID matching efficiency as a function of different kinematic variables (eta, azimuthal angle and transverse momentum). The matching efficiency is computed as the ratio of the distribution of the MCH+MID tracks over the MCH-only tracks. An horizontal dashed line shows the minimum acceptable matching efficiency value used by the checker to decide if the tracking is considered good or bad.

The overall aggregated MUON tracks quality is the logic AND of the qualities of the individual plots.

Matching efficiency versus eta#

[QC on EPN - plot integrated over the run]

Black plot: good quality Red plot: bad quality
mch-syncfracok

The plot shows the MCH+MID matching efficiency as function of the track eta variable. The size of the horizontal lines show the range in eta values where the matching efficiency is checked and required to be withing the corresponding vertical range.

Matching efficiency versus azimuthal angle#

[QC on EPN - plot integrated over the run]

Black plot: good quality Red plot: bad quality
mch-syncfracok

The plot shows the MCH+MID matching efficiency as function of the track azimuthal angle. The minimum and maximum acceptable efficiency values are shown by the horizontal lines.

Matching efficiency versus transverse momentum#

[QC on EPN - plot integrated over the run]

Black plot: good quality Red plot: bad quality
mch-syncfracok

The plot shows the MCH+MID matching efficiency as function of the track transverse momentum. The size of the horizontal lines show the range in eta values where the matching efficiency is checked and required to be withing the corresponding vertical range.
